Ayurveda dosha, life force and five elements? According to Ayurveda as an individual your body constitution were already programmed when you were conceived and remains so for life. Think of the five elements earth, water, fire, air, ether. Ayurvedic philosophy states that every cell contains these elements.

Five Elements

• The cell is the earth

• The liquid in the cell, cytoplasm, is water

• Fire governs what happens in the cell

• The gases in the cell are mainly air

• The space the cell occupies is ether

In combination they form three life forces (or doshas)

• Vata (ether and air)

• Pitta (water and fire)

• Kapha (water and earth)

Your body is composed of these three doshas, but one of them is most dominant. To maintain health and well being Ayurveda aims to achieve balance between three life forces through daily and seasonal routines including proper diet, exercise, meditation and relaxation.

Ayurveda acknowledges body intelligence, uniqueness of each person and for the optimum health designs unique formulae that work according to your individual needs not against.
